Job Title:Scientist II, ChemistryJob Description:The Role:Our site in Burnet, TX is seeking a Scientist II, Production Analytical Chemist, to join our team. Come help analyze and characterize the materials that help design, deliver, and optimize some of the most critical semiconductor devices in the world. Be a part of a team and organization that is pushing the boundaries of chemical manufacturing through your expertise as an analytical chemist!We are seeking a Chemist with in-depth knowledge of analytical chemistry and techniques applied to the characterization of complex mixtures. This knowledge is required to troubleshoot, develop, and optimize analytical methods for routine and non-routine QC analysis to support the Manufacturing and Engineering Teams. Due to the complex nature of sample matrices, this opportunity allows the right person to expand upon their technical skill set and participate on a dynamic team in a growing organization.The ideal candidate will be results and detail oriented, strive to be an excellent team player, and be able to apply their solid knowledge of chemistry, mechanical inclination, good lab practices, and familiarity with the criticality of materials science in the semiconductor industry.The hired individual will work 4 10-hour shifts on 2nd shift (2pm-12am) with rotating weekends.What You’ll Do:Demonstrate leadership in maintaining safety and quality culturePrepare and conduct chemical and/or physical analyses as defined by existing work instructions on routine and non-routine samples using analytical instruments including: ICP-MS, ICP-OES, GC, GC/MS, HPLC, IC, XRF, UV-Vis, NIR, KF, etc.Document, process, transfer, and review analytical data to ensure completion, conformity, traceability, and validity and support production and other internal/external customer needs; Take corrective action when necessaryMaintain instrumentation, tools, chemicals, and consumables required for product testing purposesEffectively troubleshoot instruments and resolve any hardware or software issuesVerify the efficacy of samples and ensure that all samples and chemicals are properly stored or disposedPropose/Lead/Support initiatives to foster continuous improvement of new or existing testing methods and practicesMaintain housekeeping and proper Laboratory cleanliness to support high quality trace-level dataCompile and present data and presentations to communicate data and other relevant information for continuous improvement, method development/validation, and other projectsWork on cross-functional teams as the analytical subject matter expertTrain other personnel to analyze samples or perform other laboratory tasksWhat We Seek:A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biology, or relevant area of study is required.2+ years of experience in operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining analytical instrumentation (LC, LC-MS, IC, IC-MS, GC, GC-MS, ICP-MS, ICP-OES), ICP-MS, trace metals, and cleanroom experience strongly preferredAdvanced computer knowledge, including MS Office; LIMS experience preferredKnowledge and demonstration of proper safe handling/disposal of chemicals and ability to maintain a clean and safe workspaceProven record of completing lab work safely, correctly, efficiently, timely, and independentlyExpand upon personal job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, special project teams, and reading technical publicationsAbility to multi-task and balance independent, teamwork, and time effectivelyDedication to meticulous attention to detail and organizationStrong dexterity, good eye-hand coordination, and ability to safely perform routine repetitive motionsAdvanced mechanical inclination and experience operating electrical and nonelectrical laboratory equipment.Four (4) 10-hour shifts per week, Evening shift.
