Business Development Representative

Your Mission GitGuardian is a global post‑Series C cybersecurity startup and you will play a pivotal role in identifying and generating new business opportunities, as well as nurturing marketing qualified leads. You will be responsible for building relationships with prospects, qualifying their needs, and collaborating with internal and external resources to grow revenue. Lead Generation: Work from various channels such as cold calling, email campaigns, social media, networking and events to identify potential leads and generate new business opportunities. Qualification and Discovery: Conduct thoughtful research to understand the prospect’s industry, pain points, and business needs. Engage in conversations to qualify leads, identify decision‑makers, and gather relevant information. Relationship Building: Establish and maintain relationships with potential customers through effective communication, active listening, and understanding their unique requirements. Collaboration: Collaborate closely with the sales team to ensure smooth handover of qualified leads and provide valuable insights to enhance the sales process. Sales Outreach: Execute strategic inbound and outbound sales activities to engage prospects and set up meetings or product demonstrations for the sales team. Pipeline Management: Update and maintain accurate records of lead interactions, progress, and status in our customer relationship management (CRM) system (Bonus Points if you have experience with HubSpot!). Market Research: Stay up‑to‑date with industry trends, competitive landscape, and market changes to identify new opportunities and optimize sales strategies. Who You Are Experience: Previous experience in a B2B sales development or lead generation role is required, ideally within a cybersecurity SaaS environment. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage prospects and articulate product features and benefits effectively. Relationship Building: Demonstrated interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with potential customers. Goal‑oriented: Results‑driven mindset with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding targets. Adaptability: Ability to thrive in an evolving environment and quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and industry trends. Team Player: Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in a team‑based environment. Demonstrated organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and manage a high volume of leads effectively. Technological Aptitude: Proficient in using CRM systems, sales automation tools, and other relevant sales software. Ability to Travel: Approximately 20% (1‑3 trips per quarter on average). The Interview Process Video call with a Talent Acquisition team member – to evaluate if there could be a mutual match. Team interview – meet the team and/or your future manager to know more about yourself and present the team’s missions, rituals, seniority level, and determine your fit for the next steps. Business case – work at home and present to the team. Objective: to evaluate your skills for the position and project yourself into the role. Final interview with the CEO – Eric will detail our company’s vision and ambitions for the next couple of years. The On‑Target‑Earnings for this position is expected to be in the range of $75,000‑$100,000 per year. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as relevant experience, skills, location and qualifications. This range represents the expected base pay for this role plus commissions (which are not guaranteed); additional compensation may include equity, or other benefits.
