Work Environment

This role is unique as it requires you to work onsite at our clients' homes across the Blacksburg area. You'll engage directly with patients in their comfort zones, thereby fostering a deeper rapport and understanding of their everyday challenges. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations of patients to assess their physical capabilities, limitations, and necessary interventions.

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that utilize various therapy techniques, including therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and education on self-management strategies.

• Monitor patient progress meticulously, documenting treatments, responses, and outcomes to ensure therapy effectiveness and to adjust treatment plans as needed.

• Educate patients and their families on rehabilitation processes and provide them with the tools they need to facilitate ongoing recovery, including the proper use of assistive devices.

• Regularly collaborate with other healthcare professionals to enhance patient care and integrate holistic approaches into their rehabilitation.

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge in physical therapy practices by participating in professional development opportunities and contributing to clinical discussions.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will primarily assist a diverse array of patients, including children and seniors, who require rehabilitation after surgical procedures, trauma, stroke, or chronic conditions. You will develop an intimate understanding of their specific needs as you work closely with them in their home settings, adjusting therapy engagingly and interactively.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) and hold a valid state license to practice physical therapy.

• At least 1 year of experience as a practicing Physical Therapist is required.

• Exceptional communication skills are necessary, as the role involves conveying complex information to patients and their caregivers.

• Proficiency in computer skills, particularly for documentation and reporting purposes, is essential.

• High adaptability to changing scenarios and patient needs will be crucial for success in this position.

Preferred Experience

• While 1 year of experience in a clinical physical therapy setting is required, those with experience providing in-home care may find this role particularly suited to their skill set.

• Familiarity with treatment methodologies for diverse populations, especially geriatric and pediatric patients, will be an asset.

Compensation and Benefits
