Step into a dynamic, supportive educational environment and make a difference as a floating paraprofessional across a well-respected school district near Elk River, MN. This contract assignment runs from ASAP through June 2027, offering guaranteed weekly hours for dedicated, flexible professionals eager to support students with diverse needs.
You’ll be part of a team of six floaters assigned to rotating crews covering multiple school sites—spanning Champlin, Coon Rapids, Blaine, Anoka, Andover, and the Rivertrail Learning Center. Your readiness to respond to daily callouts will ensure consistent coverage in elementary, middle, and high school special education classrooms, primarily working with students who require behavioral support and individualized attention.
Key Qualifications:
- Highly qualified status as a paraprofessional (must have passed MN Para Educator Exam or completed at least 60 college credits with official transcripts)
- Previous experience in school settings, particularly with behavior support and students with special needs
- Willingness to assist with personal care, including toileting, as needed
- Ability to be flexible with assignments and sites daily
- Reliable transportation for travel within the district is essential
What You’ll Do:
- Respond promptly to crew supervisor callouts via text for daily assignment updates
- Provide classroom or 1:1 support to students, implementing behavior intervention plans and supporting learning
- Build rapport with students and staff while flexing to meet daily needs
- Consistently adapt to new environments and expectations
