Duties Description Perform such activities including, but not limited to: technical and agency program support; information technology activities related to network and system design, configuration, maintenance, and network/information security; customer support; project support; business/systems analysis and design which may include mainframe, client/server, and n-tier (e.g., three tiered) web or browser based applications systems; and the design, development, and administration of enterprise storage, backup, and database systems. This position is on the ServiceNow Administration Team in the Bureau of PeopleSoft & Payment Applications within the Chief Information Office. Administers ServiceNow Manages users and roles Maintains catalogs and workflows Troubleshoot issues and resolve incidents Provide support and guidance to end users Coordinates minor enhancements Communicate updates, issues, and changes clearly and promptly Conducts system testing and maintains accurate documentation Ensures adherence to established policies, procedures, and change management practices Minimum Qualifications Civil Service Examinations are not required under the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide (NY HELPS) Program. Non-Competitive Qualifications for appointment under the NY HELPS Program: For appointment to an Information Technology Specialist 3 (SG-23), you must have: Five years of professional experience in the following computer related areas: network, server, storage, and systems management; telecommunications, IT customer support and training; computer installation, diagnosis, and repair; technical writing; computer security; knowledge management; database administration, design, and management; internet/intranet development, design, and maintenance; information technology project management; design and development of geographic information systems or computer aided drafting applications; computer programming; business/systems analysis; program design; or program testing. OR A bachelor's degree in any field including or supplemented by 15 semester credit hours in computer science and two years of experience; or a bachelor's or higher-level degree in any field and three years of experience; or an associate degree with 15 semester credit hours in a computer science field and four years of experience. Competitive Minimum Qualifications: You must be currently reachable on the appropriate eligible list for this title or eligible to transfer to this title under Section 52.6, 70.1, or 70.4 of the Civil Service Law. Transfers: For 52.6, 70.1 and 70.4 transfer to an Information Technology Specialist 3, salary grade (SG)-23, you must have one year of permanent competitive service in an approved title for transfer allocated to an SG-21 or above. Non-Competitive Promotion (NCP) qualifications: You must be a qualified employee of the Office of the New York State Comptroller and have had one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as an Information Technology Specialist 2.
