Principal Scientist I, Immunology/Dermatology

Principal Scientist I role leading immunology and dermatology research at AbbVie's North Chicago headquarters. Responsible for developing scientific strategies, managing complex human tissue models for drug discovery, and directing project teams in inflammatory skin disease research.

Responsibilities

• Serve as principal investigator generating and leading original scientific ideas and proposals for inflammatory skin diseases
• Independently manage project science and lead teams within area of expertise
• Author publications, presentations, regulatory documents and patent applications as primary contributor
• Monitor and respond to scientific, regulatory, and competitive advances in the field
• Mentor team members and evaluate their performance

Requirements

• PhD in biological sciences, bioengineering, or chemical engineering
• 1 year developing and implementing complex in vitro human models in pharmaceutical setting
• 1 year developing and validating human tissue-on-a-chip models
• 1 year growing primary human tissue cultures with multiple cell types in co-culture
• 1 year performing data and image acquisition analysis and presentation

Compensation: $154,355.64 - $208,500.00 per year
