Work Environment

Located in the heart of Virginia Beach, our rehabilitation center provides a welcoming and supportive environment for both our patients and staff. As a full-time orthopedic physical therapist, you will collaborate with a small, close-knit team of two physical therapists and one physical therapy assistant (PTA), enabling a collaborative approach to patient care and optimal recovery outcomes. This onsite position allows you to engage directly with patients in an environment designed to foster healing and rehabilitation.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations to identify individual patient goals and needs, developing appropriate treatment plans based on comprehensive assessments.
• Manage a patient caseload of one patient per hour, providing focused, one-on-one care that addresses specific orthopedic conditions and rehabilitation goals.
• Deliver evidence-based treatment interventions, including manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, and modalities tailored to enhance mobility and function.
• Educate patients about their conditions and treatment options, empowering them to make informed decisions about their care.
• Monitor patient progress regularly, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Document all patient interactions and treatment interventions clearly and accurately within our electronic medical records (EMR) system, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
• Engage in interdisciplinary collaboration, consulting with other healthcare professionals to formulate comprehensive care strategies.
• Encourage a healthy lifestyle through fitness and wellness programs designed specifically for the needs of each patient.
• Advocate for the reduction of reliance on medications and explore alternative non-surgical approaches for pain management and rehabilitation.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on patients dealing with orthopedic injuries, including those recovering from surgery, sports injuries, chronic pain conditions, and post-trauma rehabilitation. You will work to restore their physical capabilities and enhance their overall well-being in a supportive clinic environment.

Qualifications

• Education: A Master's or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy (DPT) is required.
• Licensure: A valid physical therapist license in the state of Virginia.
• Professional Integrity: An untarnished professional record with no history of board or disciplinary actions taken against the license.
• Skills: Strong proficiency in manual therapy techniques and evidence-based exercise protocols is essential.
• Technology: Familiarity with EMR software, particularly WebPT, is preferred.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience as a physical therapist in an orthopedic outpatient setting, with a demonstrated history of effectively managing diverse patient cases.
• Continuing education in emerging therapeutic techniques, particularly manual therapy and evidence-based rehabilitation strategies.

Compensation and Benefits
