This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, interpreting policies and laws, piecing together information from multiple sources, and making thoughtful decisions that directly impact victims of crime across the Commonwealth of Virginia. Responsibilities Claims Examiners review and evaluate criminal injury compensation claims to determine eligibility and award decisions in accordance with Virginia law and agency policies. The role involves analyzing records and documentation, managing a dynamic caseload, communicating with victims and stakeholders, conducting follow‑up research, preparing detailed reports and correspondence, and collaborating with internal and external partners to support victims throughout the claims process. Qualifications Experience managing high‑volume caseloads or workload priorities in a fast‑paced environment Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to make sound decisions Experience interacting professionally with customers, clients, or stakeholders in sensitive or complex situations Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and database systems Additional Considerations Working knowledge of the Code of Virginia sections relating to the Criminal Injuries Compensation Fund and medical billing processes and terminology preferred Experience working with the Criminal Injuries Compensation Fund preferred Equal Opportunity Employer Virginia Workers' Compensation Commission is an Equal Opportunity Employer and encourages diversity within its workforce. #J-18808-Ljbffr
