Job Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations for patients from pediatric to geriatric populations employing both standardized assessments and observational methods.
- Design and implement tailored treatment plans to cater to individual communication, cognitive, and swallowing goals.
- Deliver individualized therapy sessions that target fluency, language, voice, and swallowing capabilities.
- Partner with an interdisciplinary team, including physical therapy, occupational therapy, nursing, and medical staff, to contribute to an integrated care model.
- Educate patients and families to foster progress and reinforce strategies outside of clinical settings.
- Perform occasional inpatient assessments and interventions to ensure seamless care throughout the treatment continuum.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation according to the standards set by regulating bodies.
- Engage in continuous professional development and peer networking to stay abreast of industry advancements.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Successful completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if you have yet to obtain ASHA certification.
- Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 30 days of employment.
- Expertise in evidence-based practice for all age groups, complemented by a solid grasp of developmental and acquired communication disorders.
- Exceptional communication abilities that foster strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Flexibility in adapting therapy techniques to address varied cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Strong analytical skills and clinical reasoning.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) and compliance standards.
