Start date is 3-4 weeks out based on compliance tier. Patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:6. Requires a minimum of 2 years of experience. First-time travelers are welcome. Weekend commitment is every other weekend. No on-call requirements. Clerical staff will assist with scheduling. Locals may not apply if within a specified radius. No more than 7 days of requested time off per 13-week contract. Special requirements include passing an EKG exam. Experience in Medical Surgical and Telemetry preferred. The unit serves acute medicine patients, including those with DM, renal issues, COPD, and abdominal rule-outs. No surgical patients are cared for on this unit. The facility is classified as a short-term acute care environment. Total staffed beds in the facility number in the thousands. Weekly hours are guaranteed. Travelers are expected to adhere to all compliance requirements prior to start. Candidates should be familiar with electronic charting systems. All travelers will float within their service line as needed. Pre-approved time off must be arranged in advance. Daily patient census is expected to be around 21. Additional interdisciplinary support services are available. Required procedures may include simple bedside interventions.
