Description: This position requires a Registered Nurse specializing in Medical Surgical. The start date is in 3-4 weeks based on compliance tier. Patient ratios are 1:6. Ideal candidates will have at least 2 years of experience. First-time travelers are welcome to apply. Weekend shifts are required every other week. Floating within the service line to meet facility needs is expected. This unit does not care for surgical patients. Patient care includes those with diabetes, renal issues, COPD, abdominal rule-outs, and cancer patients not receiving current chemotherapy. The unit staff consists of interdisciplinary support, including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy. Bedside procedures may include thoracentesis, paracentesis, chest tube insertion, and wound care. Daily census averages around 21 patients. Must be prepared for various patient diagnoses within the acute medicine population. Successful candidates will demonstrate experience in telemetry and management of various medical conditions.
