About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 1-2 years preferred License: Pending License accepted Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: Will need to pass EKG exam. Interpretation/Management of Dysrhythmias required. Description: RN/Medical Surgical position available. Start date is approximately 3-4 weeks from compliance completion. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:4-5. Weekend shifts required every other weekend. No on-call requirement. First-time travelers accepted. Will float within service line as needed. Local candidates will not be accepted within a 75-mile radius. Restricted time off (RTO) is limited to 7 days per 13-week contract. Care responsibilities include primary care and caring for patients with tracheostomies. Patient diagnoses include acute care patients with infections, renal issues, cardiac conditions, pulmonary concerns, oncology cases, orthopedic conditions, bariatric patients, pre-transplant assessments, observation, psychological assessments, long-stay patients, and COVID cases. The unit experiences high patient turnover; patients may stay for a few hours to a day depending on bed availability. Nurses will work with a wide variety of patient conditions and should be prepared to learn new skills. Special equipment includes Alaris pumps, CPAPs, BIPAPs, bladder scanners, lifts, hover mats, EKGs, and scales. Additional interdisciplinary support will be available from various teams including IV, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, and pharmacy. Nurses must have experience with specific skills such as blood product administration, central line blood draws, feeding tube management, insulin management, tele-monitoring, wound care, and more. All travelers are expected to adhere to the facility's compliance and operational policies.
