Travel Nurse RN - Labor and Delivery - $3,452 per week

Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Labor and Delivery Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/21/2026 Duration: 16 weeks 48 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) General Information This position involves working in a labor and delivery unit with various patient types. The unit has a total of 34 labor and delivery beds, including 15 labor rooms, 12 antepartum beds, 4 OB emergency department beds, and 3 operating rooms. The postpartum unit has 18 beds. Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required; 5 years preferred. 1 year of travel nursing experience accepted for candidates with solid charge nurse experience. First-time travelers may be considered based on experience and qualifications. Required certifications: BLS, NRP, and Intermediate FHM (AWHONN). Patient Types High acuity cases such as hypertension, magnesium administration, C-sections (33% rate), preterm labor, and insulin drips. Vaginal deliveries, epidurals, inductions, robust antepartum, premature rupture of membranes (PROM), multiple births, and postpartum hemorrhage. Patient Ratios 1:1 ratio during active labor; 1:2 ratio during non-active labor; 1:2-3 for antepartum care, depending on acuity. Roles and Responsibilities Manage labor and delivery of high-risk obstetric patients. Triage OB patients and circulate in operating rooms. Conduct cervical checks and read/interpret fetal monitoring strips. Provide support during the delivery process and assist with newborn care as needed. Act as a charge nurse, managing unit staff and patient assignments. Support on the Unit Assistants and transport personnel available for support. Resource RNs present depending on staffing. 24/7 respiratory therapy support, including for high-risk deliveries. Technology and Equipment Electronic Medical Records (EMR): EPIC system is required. Various medical equipment including IV pumps and fetal surveillance monitors. Orientation Complete a traditional orientation program which includes hospital orientation and unit-specific training. Preceptorship paired with experienced charge nurses. Orientation schedule will align with unit needs. Scheduling and Time Off Weekend rotation required: every other weekend, subject to change based on unit needs. Fair and equitable holiday expectations. Time-off requests should be submitted ahead of contract approval. Parking and Scrubs Free parking available in designated areas. Scrubs provided by the facility and should not be worn outside.
