Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough assessments of clients to evaluate the severity, frequency, and duration of mood disorder symptoms, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of their mental health status.

• Collaborate with clients to design customized treatment plans, aligning therapeutic goals with their individual needs and preferences.

• Employ evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to facilitate client progress.

• Offer psychoeducation to clients and their families about mood disorders, treatment options, and self-care strategies to foster understanding and empowerment.

• Regularly track and document client progress, adapting treatment plans as necessary based on therapeutic outcomes and evolving client needs.

• Work closely with interdisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals, to ensure cohesive and integrated care.

• Stay informed about the latest research and developments in mood disorder treatment to enhance therapy techniques and strategies.

• Maintain confidential and accurate clinical records in compliance with relevant legal and ethical standards.

• Engage in case consultations, participate in team meetings, and pursue ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance clinical skills.

• Advocate for clients’ mental health needs while actively working to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health issues.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role primarily supports individuals experiencing mood disorders such as depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety. We also focus on providing care for marginalized groups, including homeless individuals, refugees, and domestic abuse survivors. By understanding and addressing the unique challenges faced by these populations, LMFTs play a crucial role in promoting healing and recovery.

Qualifications\n

• Current and active state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) .
