HR Manager – Employee Relations (Contract) Location: North Hollywood, CA Schedule: Monday-Friday | Onsite Duration: 4-7 Month Contract Pay Rate: $40 to $55 per hour About the Opportunity We are seeking an experienced HR Manager with a strong Employee Relations background to support a dynamic organization in North Hollywood. This onsite contract role will serve as a trusted advisor to managers and employees, leading employee relations initiatives, workplace investigations, performance management support, policy administration, and compliance activities. The ideal candidate is a hands-on HR professional who thrives in fast-paced environments and can confidently manage complex employee relations matters while partnering with leadership to maintain a positive and compliant workplace culture. Key Responsibilities Serve as the primary HR resource for employee relations matters across the organization. Conduct workplace investigations involving performance concerns, policy violations, employee complaints, misconduct, harassment, discrimination, and other workplace issues. Partner with managers and leadership to provide guidance on performance management, corrective actions, coaching conversations, and employee development. Support conflict resolution efforts and recommend practical solutions to employee concerns. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies. Review and prepare documentation related to disciplinary actions, investigations, terminations, and employee relations matters. Advise leaders on California employment law, leave administration, accommodations, and employee relations best practices. Assist with organizational changes, employee communications, and workforce initiatives. Partner with Legal and executive leadership on sensitive employee matters when necessary. Support HR projects, policy updates, training initiatives, and compliance programs. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred. 5+ years of Human Resources experience with a strong emphasis on Employee Relations. Experience conducting workplace investigations and documenting findings. Strong knowledge of California employment laws, including wage and hour regulations, ADA, FMLA/CFRA, harassment prevention, and employee relations practices. Experience coaching managers on performance management and corrective action processes. Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment. Preferred PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification. Experience supporting multi-site operations. Experience within manufacturing, distribution, retail, consumer products, healthcare, or other high-volume employee environments. HRIS experience with systems such as Workday, UKG, ADP, Paylocity, or similar platforms.
