Kitchen Team Member – Sloopy's Diner

Pay: $16.00–$20.00/hour, based on experience

About Us

Sloopy's Diner is a busy, full-service diner in the Ohio Union on Ohio State's campus, serving students, faculty, and visitors all day. Sloopy's is independently operated and is not affiliated with Ohio State University.

About the Role

We're looking for a flexible Kitchen Team Member who can move between stations as the day demands. You might run the grill during the morning rush, work the line at lunch, and help prep for the next shift, all in one day. If you're dependable, quick on your feet, and happy to jump in wherever you're needed, we want to meet you.

What You'll Do

- Cook on the grill, including burgers, eggs, pancakes, and other diner favorites

- Work the line, preparing orders accurately and on time

- Prep ingredients and keep your station stocked

- Keep work areas clean, organized, and up to food safety standards

- Support teammates and cover other stations as needed

What We're Looking For

- Willingness to work multiple kitchen stations

- Grill or line cook experience preferred but not required; we'll train the right person

- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen

- Reliable attendance and a team-first attitude

- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation
