Key Responsibilities\n

As a Licensed Professional Counselor, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Collaborating closely with the Medical Director and other team members to coordinate comprehensive mental health treatment plans tailored to individual needs.

• Delivering mental health training sessions to the medical, psychiatric, and security staff within the organization, ensuring best practices are understood and implemented.

• Intervening during mental health emergencies, applying de-escalation techniques to stabilize situations and ensure patient safety.

• Participating in commitment hearings as necessary, advocating for patients' rights and effective treatment approaches.
\n
• Developing individualized treatment plans and therapeutic goals that are measurable and achievable, facilitating positive outcomes.
\n
• Maintaining meticulous documentation of all patient interactions and treatment progress, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
\n
• Safeguarding the confidentiality of medical records, adhering to HIPAA guidelines and organizational policies.
\n
• Verifying past mental health histories, including the patient’s previous use of psychotropic medications, to inform treatment approaches.

• Preparing regular and special reports to summarize patient progress and facilitate communication with other healthcare providers.

• Working collaboratively with nursing and mental health teams to arrange effective post-release referrals for continued support.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will engage with a diverse array of patients, including individuals managing mental health disorders, substance abuse issues, and those navigating life transitions. Qualifications\n

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a closely related field.

• Current and unrestricted licensure as a Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Texas.
