Medical Technologist – Medical Technologist Weekly Pay $3138 - $3338 Shift Shift 8 Hour Day Shifts Per Week 5 Scheduled Hours 40 Start Date 06/22/2026 End Date 10/17/2026 Duration 16 Week(s) Schedule This position offers a day shift schedule of 5 days a week from 08:00 AM to 04:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Job Description The Pathologists' Assistant is responsible for the gross examination and dissection of various specimens in a hospital clinical laboratory setting. This role encompasses preparing tissues for histological processing, performing macroscopic descriptions of gross anatomic features, and managing specimen fixation, receipt, and labeling. Responsibilities Perform gross examination and dissection of large/complex specimens as well as small biopsies. Prepare tissue samples for microscopic examination. Conduct tumor triage and obtain/review patient clinical information, including scans, X-rays, and lab results. Perform adult and fetal autopsies and evisceration procedures. Documentation and management of specimens within the clinical laboratory workflow using the EPIC system. Qualifications Minimum of 3 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting. Certification from ASCP as a Pathologists' Assistant (PA) is required. Experience with specimen accessioning and performing gross/microscopic photography is preferred. A Master’s degree in a relevant field is preferred.
