Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting elementary students as a Special Education Teacher in a Center-Based program near Lakeville, MN. This contract role is designed for passionate educators eager to make a significant impact in the lives of 3rd and 4th graders with autism and cognitive disabilities. With a manageable caseload of 8 students, you’ll have the time and resources to provide individualized academic and social-emotional instruction in a collaborative, supportive environment.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Minnesota Special Education (SPED) License, Tier 3 or 4
- Experience teaching elementary-aged children, especially those with autism and cognitive disabilities
- Strong knowledge of IEP development and evaluations
- Proven ability to manage and support paraprofessional staff
- Excellent communication, organization, and collaborative skills
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver differentiated instruction in a multi-age, Center-Based (Setting 3) classroom
- Oversee and guide two paraprofessionals to support classroom success
- Develop, write, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and perform student evaluations
- Foster a safe, encouraging, and inclusive classroom where every student can thrive
- Collaborate with staff, families, and related services to ensure comprehensive student support
- Manage daily classroom routines and implement effective behavior strategies
