Our team of economists provide sharp economic insights, grounded in data-driven analytics with diverse academic, industry, and subject matter expertise. As a team, we thrive on bringing creative and effective solutions that make a difference to our clients.Your work will involve a wide range of activities, such as:Manage large and complex data sets and perform complex investigative data workApply rigorous and peer-reviewed economic theory to real-world issuesFormulate hypotheses relevant for the issues being addressedOrganize documents and work papers, including the preparation of supporting materials for expert reports and other deliverablesReview and summarize materials produced in litigation matters such as depositions, financial statements, and client dataDraft written reportsPrepare presentation materialsPerform quality control reviews over work productUse client data to develop actionable recommendations within a variety of functional areasDevelop and assess business projections and forecastsCommunicate with clients and colleagues in written and oral formThis description is not designed to encompass a comprehensive listing of required activities, duties or responsibilities. The Economics Vice President position is available in New York or Washington, DC.What you’ll need A bachelor’s degree in economics, statistics, finance, mathematics, or related preferred.Minimum 3 years of experience working for an economics consulting firm or a financial services firm preferred; in lieu of professional experience, related internships or coursework that developed technical, analytical and general business skills may be considered.Experience and/or deep interest in financial markets, risk management and trading.Quantitative and programming skills, with proficiency in programming languages and financial analysis/statistical software (such as Stata, R, Python, and SAS), Excel, Bloomberg Terminal, FactSetStrong project management skills, including the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlinesAbility to work well in a team environment, as well as independently, with an entrepreneurial attitudeA professional demeanor with strong communication and presentation skillsHighly motivated and thorough with a strong attention to detailAbility to think critically and creatively when designing and implementing analysesAbility to learn quickly and apply training to solve real-world problems in time-sensitive, dynamic situationsAbility to work well under pressureProficient in Microsoft Excel, Access, Word and PowerPointWhen required, ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationallyExcellent written and verbal communication skills in EnglishWillingness to work outside of normal U.S. business hours, and in particular as unique projects/needs arise.Ability to work full time in an office and remote environment; physically able to sit/stand at a computer and work in front of a computer screen for significant portions of the workdayMust become familiar with, and promote and abide by, our Core Values as defined by the AlixPartners’ Code of Conduct and foster an inclusive environment with people at all levels of an organizationThe firm offers a comprehensive benefits program including health, vision, dental, disability, 401K, tuition reimbursement, identity theft protection, and mental wellness support.
