Staff Accountant

Hunter Truck is hiring! We are currently looking for a motivated and committed team member to join our Accounting Team as Staff Accountant . This position is responsible for recording financial transactions, performing account reconciliations, and assisting with monthly, quarterly, and annual general ledger closings timely and accurately. Other duties may be assigned. * Utilizes Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to gather, analyze and prepare financial information to post journal entries to the general ledger. * Performs general account analysis and reconciliation utilizing GAAP; including but not limited to cash, accounts receivable/accounts payable, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, other assets, inventory, accruals, commissions, intercompany transactions and other. * Ensures account reconciliations are prepared timely and properly tied out to supporting documentation evidencing accuracy. * Assists in month end, quarter end and year end closing processes; ensures transactions are recorded in accordance with GAAP and internal policies and procedures are followed. Appropriate supporting documentation should be maintained with the overall files. * Communicates any exceptions or discrepancies in financial information to management. * Assists with analyzing and documenting the results of profit and loss comparisons to summarize company's financial position as requested. * Assists with preparation and documentation of annual budgets for each of the branches / departments as requested. * Maintains financial security by following internal controls and protects organizational value by keeping financial information confidential. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business or Finance from an accredited four-year college or university and one-year related experience preferred but not required. On-the-job training and computer software training provided.
