French Audio Engineer for Speech and TTS Applications

Prepare and refine French speech recordings for use in text to speech and speech AI systems, ensuring each file meets technical specifications and linguistic quality standards. This role focuses on editing, cleaning, and quality checking large volumes of French-language audio to support machine learning training pipelines. Native or near-native French fluency is required to judge pronunciation, naturalness, and fluency accurately.

• Edit and process French voice recordings for TTS and speech AI datasets.
• Perform audio cleanup tasks including silence trimming, breath reduction or removal, de-clicking, de-essing, and noise reduction.
• Detect and correct artifacts such as clipping, distortion, and background noise.
• Check and balance loudness and levels to maintain consistency across recordings.
• Validate that audio files meet strict technical specifications required by ML training pipelines.
• Assess French pronunciation accuracy, naturalness, and overall fluency in recordings.
• Work with large batches of recordings, maintaining consistent throughput and quality across high-volume datasets.
• Collaborate with teams involved in French speech datasets, voice talent recordings, and model training workflows.

• Native or near-native French speaker, with strong listening intuition for French speech nuances.
• Experience editing speech or voice recordings, specifically for dialogue or spoken content rather than music production.
• Solid understanding of speech audio quality standards and common issues found in recorded dialogue.
• Hands-on experience with tools such as iZotope RX, Pro Tools, or similar audio restoration and editing software.
• Proven ability to identify and fix artifacts, inconsistencies, and technical defects in audio recordings.
• Experience working with high-volume audio datasets or following structured, repeatable workflows.

• Experience working with TTS vendors or speech platform integrations.
• Background in speech machine learning, voice AI, or dataset creation and annotation workflows.
• Familiarity with audio QA pipelines, labeling, or structured evaluation processes.
• Experience directing or editing French voice talent recordings.

• Detail-oriented with strong critical listening skills in French.
• Comfortable performing repetitive, high-precision tasks at scale.
• Able to balance speed and quality in production environments.
• Understands differences between human French speech and synthetic voice requirements.
