French Speech and TTS Audio Engineer

Help prepare high-quality French speech data for text-to-speech and speech AI systems. This role combines precise audio restoration with critical French-language listening, ensuring recordings are clear, natural, consistent, and ready for machine learning training pipelines. Key Responsibilities

• Edit and process French voice recordings for speech and TTS applications.
• Clean audio by trimming silence, reducing or removing breaths, de-clicking, de-essing, and reducing noise.
• Perform detailed quality checks for clipping, distortion, background noise, artifacts, loudness consistency, and level balance.
• Verify that files meet strict technical specifications for ML training workflows.
• Assess French pronunciation, fluency, and naturalness.
• Maintain quality and throughput while handling large recording batches.
• Collaborate on French speech datasets, voice-talent recordings, and model-training workflows.

• Native or near-native French fluency, with strong intuition for French speech nuances and the ability to evaluate pronunciation, speech quality, and naturalness.
• Experience editing speech or voice recordings, beyond music-production work alone.
• Strong knowledge of speech-audio quality standards and common recorded-dialogue issues.
• Hands-on experience with iZotope RX, Pro Tools, or comparable audio-restoration software.
• Ability to identify and correct audio artifacts, inconsistencies, and technical defects.
• Experience working with high-volume audio datasets or structured production workflows.

• Experience with TTS vendors or platforms.
• Background in speech machine learning, voice AI, or dataset creation or annotation workflows.
• Familiarity with audio QA, labeling, or evaluation processes.
• Experience directing or editing recordings with French voice talent.

• Strong attention to detail and critical listening skills in French.
• Comfort with repetitive, high-precision work at scale.
• Ability to balance speed with quality in a production environment.
• Understanding of the differences between human French speech and synthetic-voice requirements.

• Remote, hourly engagement.
