Step into a vital role as a Paraprofessional / Education Assistant, where you’ll make a meaningful impact supporting students from pre-kindergarten through sixth grade. This full-time opportunity is set for the entire 2026-27 school year, beginning September 2, and focuses on fostering growth and independence for children with diverse abilities. Your days will be dynamic as you provide essential behavior and mobility support, working closely with students who have a range of disabilities in a welcoming school environment near Boston, MA.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Prior experience as a paraprofessional, education assistant, or in a direct support role is strongly valued
- Ability to work effectively in a classroom setting, adapting to individual student needs
- Familiarity with various disabilities and strategies for behavioral and mobility assistance
- Comfortable collaborating with teachers, therapists, and specialists
- Patient, compassionate, and skilled in building rapport with children
- Commitment to confidentiality and professionalism
Responsibilities:
- Provide hands-on assistance to students with behavioral and mobility challenges across PK-6 classrooms
- Support instructional and non-instructional activities as directed by classroom teachers or special education staff
- Help implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavioral interventions
- Encourage autonomy and participation in classroom routines
- Foster a safe and positive learning environment
- Assist with personal care as needed, ensuring each student’s dignity and well-being
