Work Environment

This position is entirely onsite, allowing you to engage directly with patients and collaborate closely with other healthcare practitioners in a vibrant living community. You will work a structured schedule of Monday to Friday, with 8-hour shifts that promote work-life balance while ensuring continuity of care for our residents. The facility is designed with accessibility in mind, allowing you to effectively administer physical therapy in a comfortable and supportive setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate the physical needs of geriatric patients, identifying individual goals for improved movement and functionality.
• Develop comprehensive care plans utilizing an array of treatment techniques such as therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and modalities targeted at enhancing mobility.
• Implement personalized treatment regimens aimed at reducing dependency on medication and avoiding surgical interventions.
• Design wellness programs that address the specific health concerns of elderly patients, focusing on strengthening muscles, improving balance, and enhancing coordination.
• Monitor and document patient progress through regular evaluations and adjust treatment plans accordingly to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Motivate and encourage patients during therapy sessions to foster independence and drive improvements in physical achievements.
• Collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and occupational therapists, to ensure a unified approach to patient care.
• Educate patients and their families on health maintenance, injury prevention, and healthy lifestyle choices.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary focus of this role is the geriatric population, primarily residents aged 65 and above. You will provide care for individuals with a variety of conditions including, but not limited to, arthritis, cardiovascular diseases, post-surgical recovery, and mobility impairments. Our holistic approach emphasizes not only the physical healing of patients but also their overall well-being, ensuring a supportive and therapeutic environment for their rehabilitation journey.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• A valid Physical Therapy License in the state of New Jersey.
• Strong understanding of geriatric specialties, including geriatrics, orthopedics, and physical rehabilitation.
• Proficiency in developing and implementing treatment plans based on best practices.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with treatment advancements.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience working with geriatric clients in a home care or assisted living setting is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively manage a diverse patient population and communicate with varying personality types.
• Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems for documenting patient interactions and treatment plans.

Compensation and Benefits

This full-time position offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 85,000 to 95,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
