Work Environment

This position is based in the home care setting, allowing therapists to directly engage with patients in a comfortable and familiar environment. Onsite work provides opportunities for hands-on evaluation and direct therapeutic intervention, crucial in tailoring individual treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive orthopedic evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans aimed at restoring function and alleviating pain.
• Employ a range of therapeutic techniques, including hands-on manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, and modalities tailored to each patient's unique needs.
• Supervise physical therapist assistants and support staff in executing treatment plans, ensuring high standards of care and compliance with professional guidelines.
• Monitor patient progress, adjusting treatment approaches as necessary and providing detailed documentation of care and improvements.
• Educate patients and their families on rehabilitation processes and home exercise programs to enhance recovery outcomes.
• Engage in regular communication with other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care plans.
• Participate in continuing education and training opportunities to keep abreast of advancements in orthopedic physical therapy practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your expertise will cater primarily to adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations requiring orthopedic rehabilitation. This includes post-surgical recovery, injury rehabilitation, and chronic pain management. You will be instrumental in providing care tailored to each patient's specific conditions, such as fractures, joint replacements, or developmental issues in adolescents, ensuring that every individual receives personalized attention and supports their return to optimal function.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• Active state licensure or certification in physical therapy.
• A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience specifically in orthopedic physical therapy.
• Strong competencies in evaluation, assessment, care planning, and implementation of orthopedic treatments.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills to effectively collaborate with patients, families, and the healthcare team.

Preferred Experience

• A specialization in orthopedic rehabilitation and additional training or certifications, such as a Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist (COMT) or Functional Movement Systems (FMS) certification, is preferred.
