Registered Nurse - Psychiatric

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provides comprehensive psychiatric nursing care to patients in behavioral health units, ensuring their safety and well-being. Supervises nursing staff and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to deliver patient-centered treatment and support.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients' mental health status and develop individualized care plans.
• Implement and evaluate treatment interventions tailored to psychiatric needs.
• Supervise and coordinate nursing activities for assigned behavioral health units.
• Educate patients and families about mental health conditions and treatment options.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure safe discharge planning and continuity of care.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and progress.

Qualifications:

• Hold current RN licensure in the practicing state.
• Have at least two years of recent experience in psychiatric or behavioral health nursing.
• Possess CPR/BLS certification from an approved provider.
• Demonstrate knowledge of crisis prevention and aggression management techniques.
• Be certified in ACLS and PALS or equivalent.
• Be able to work 12-hour day shifts with flexibility for call as needed.
