# Job Opportunity – Pediatric Float Pool RN – Virginia**Start Date:** September 14, 2026 **Location:** Virginia **Compensation:** Details provided to qualified applicants **Schedule:** Night shift, 36 or 48 hours per week, 13-week assignment; every other weekend and every other holiday; block scheduling cannot be accommodated**Highlights:**- Float pool position rotating through various pediatric units including PICU, NICU, pediatric medical/surgical, pediatric PACU, pediatric ED boarders, and postpartum/mother-baby units- PICU ratios 1:2, NICU/ICN ratios 1:2 or 1:3, Acute Pediatrics 1:4-1:5, with variable ratios in pediatric ED based on patient acuity- Epic EMR system utilized across all units- 60 hours of orientation provided; up to 40 hours approved time off (no RTO during first 2 weeks of assignment)- Access to comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more- Opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology and evidence-based practices in a regional transfer center serving pediatric patients across the region**Requirements:**- Active RN license (pending Virginia license accepted if obtained by Wednesday before start date)- Minimum 2 years PICU experience required- NICU and PICU float pool experience required; must be comfortable caring for pediatric patients across multiple settings- Epic EMR experience required- BLS, NRP, ACLS, and PALS certifications required- Dr. Browns Infant-Driven Feeding Certification required (may submit with pending certification; cost is $185)- Pediatric PACU experience highly preferred- Previous travel experience required- Flu vaccination required (no exemptions)- BSN preferred**Why It's a Great Opportunity:**This position offers the chance to utilize and expand your pediatric critical care skills across multiple specialty units while caring for diverse patient populations from neonates to adolescents.
