Who we are

Casa de Palma develops beauty tools, personal care products, and cosmetic accessories for major retailers. Based in the heart of New York City, we bring together product, design, and sales to create fresh, trend driven collections that customers want to buy.

As our business grows, we’re looking for a creative and motivated Junior Product Developer / Merchandiser to join our team. This is an opportunity to help shape new products, work closely with our designer, and see your ideas go from an initial concept to retail shelves.

Who you are

You’re creative, detail oriented, and passionate about products. You notice what’s trending, enjoy exploring stores and social media for inspiration, and naturally think about how an item could look better or offer something new.

You love seeing your ideas become a reality and enjoy a busy environment where there’s always something to create. You have a strong eye for colors, styles, and presentation, along with the organization to keep multiple projects moving.

You’ll work hand in hand with our Packaging Designer to develop new items and collections. You’ll help lead the product ideas, trend direction, and overall look, while the designer brings that vision to life through packaging and artwork. You’ll also collaborate with sales and overseas factories to make sure products meet our retailers’ needs.

• Brainstorm new products, gift sets, and collection concepts with our product, design, and sales teams.

• Research trends online and in stores, including beauty, fashion, colors, packaging, and seasonal themes.
\n
• Turn research into clear product ideas, mood boards, and creative direction for the designer.
\n
• Work closely with the designer each day to develop and refine products and packaging.
\n
• Help build coordinated assortments for different retailers, customers, seasons, and price points.
\n
• Follow projects from initial concept through sourcing, sample reviews, approvals, and production handoff.
\n
• Communicate with overseas manufacturers about product options, materials, colors, costs, samples, and development timelines.
\n
• Create and update line sheets, costing sheets, product records, and new item setup forms.
\n
• Track project progress, sample statuses, outstanding tasks, and deadlines across multiple projects.
\n
• Receive, organize, label, and review samples, recommending improvements to appearance, materials, functionality, and packaging.
\n
• Maintain accurate product information, including specifications, costs, minimum order quantities, and lead times.
\n
• Prepare product presentations and incorporate feedback from sales, buyers, and internal reviews.
\n
• Keep the team informed about progress and follow up to ensure next steps are completed.

Requirements

\n
• 0 to 2 years of relevant experience.
\n
• Bachelor’s degree preferred, with studies in merchandising, product development, fashion, industrial design, marketing, or a related field.
\n
• A strong creative eye and an interest in beauty, consumer products, and retail trends.
\n
• Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
\n
• Ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects, and work within deadlines.
\n
• Clear communication skills and comfort collaborating with designers, sales teams, and suppliers.
\n
• Working knowledge of Canva, and Excel.
\n
• Initiative, curiosity, and a willingness to learn.
