Make a difference in the lives of students by supporting special education needs in a resource classroom setting. Two contract positions are available for passionate educators—one at the elementary level and one at the middle school level. Both opportunities are ideal for dedicated professionals who thrive in structured, supportive environments and have a genuine commitment to helping children achieve their full potential.

You’ll collaborate with school teams and families to design and implement individualized learning plans, providing targeted interventions that foster growth and confidence. Specify your preference for working with elementary or middle school students when applying.

Qualifications:

• Current and valid Michigan Special Education Teacher licensure (proof required upon submission)
• Demonstrated experience in special education settings, preferably within resource classrooms
• Strong grasp of IEP processes, documentation, and data-driven instruction
• Excellent communication skills for team collaboration and family engagement
• Compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach to diverse learning needs

Responsibilities:

• Provide instruction and support to caseloads of 10 (elementary) or 11 (middle school) students in resource settings
• Develop, update, and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Work closely with classroom teachers, specialists, and support staff
• Deliver differentiated instruction and monitor student progress
• Participate in professional meetings, trainings, and parent conferences
• Manage learning environments that are positive, inclusive, and conducive to growth

Positions are 35 hours per week, scheduled during school-day hours. Contracts begin as soon as possible and continue through June 10, 2027 (tentative end date). You will be assigned to either Athens High School or East Leroy Elementary, depending on your grade-level preference.
