This contract role supports elementary and middle school learners in a resource classroom environment. Two positions are available—one focused on elementary students, the other on middle schoolers. You’ll collaborate within a supportive educational community and work alongside other dedicated professionals to help shape student growth. Your schedule will follow regular school day hours at either East Leroy Elementary or Athens High School.

What you’ll bring:

• Active Michigan Special Education Teacher license (please be prepared to provide documentation)
• Experience or a strong commitment to working in a resource room setting
• Ability to effectively manage caseloads of approximately 10 elementary or 11 middle school students
• Strong communication skills to build relationships with students, staff, and families
• Adaptability and creativity in addressing diverse learning needs
• Professionalism, organizational skills, and a positive, student-first attitude

Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Delivering instruction and supporting accommodations to ensure accessibility and student success
• Working collaboratively with general education teachers and support staff
• Providing academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support to students
• Maintaining progress documentation and compliance records
• Communicating regularly with families regarding student progress
