Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a Special Education Teacher in a Resource classroom setting. Two positions are available – one in an elementary school and one in a middle school. Candidates are invited to specify their preference. This placement spans from ASAP through June 10, 2027 (tentative), providing stability with a weekly commitment of 35 hours.

You’ll provide direct and consultative special education services to students in resource classrooms. The elementary caseload consists of 10 students; the middle school caseload consists of 11 students. Expect a collaborative environment committed to helping every learner thrive.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid Michigan Special Education Teacher Certification—please be ready to submit documentation.
• Experience in resource settings preferred.
• Ability to differentiate instruction for diverse student needs.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with staff, students, and families.
• Flexibility and passion for supporting K-8 age learners.
• Previous experience with similar age groups and caseload sizes is desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction and support to assigned caseload.
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in accordance with state guidelines.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers.
• Communicate regularly with families to share progress and strategies.
• Foster a supportive, inclusive environment where students achieve their goals.
• Participate in professional development as required.

• Contribute meaningfully across either Athens High School (7:35 a.m. – 2:40 p.m.) or East Leroy Elementary (7:55 a.m. – 3:10 p.m.).
• Pay: $80.00 per hour.
