Make a difference supporting students as a skilled Special Education Teacher on a contract basis for the duration through June 2027! Two positions are available, working with either elementary or middle school students in a resource classroom environment. Candidates are encouraged to specify their preferred age group when applying. This role supports small caseloads and offers consistent daytime schedules at two welcoming school sites.
Key Qualifications:
- Current, active Special Education Teacher certification for Michigan (MI SPED License required; please provide documentation with your application)
- Experience or comfort working in a resource classroom setting
- Proven ability to support elementary or middle school learners—please indicate your preference
- Strong collaboration skills with fellow educators, support staff, and families
- Commitment to helping students with diverse learning needs reach their goals
- Excellent communication, adaptability, and organization abilities
Role Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for each student on your caseload (approximately 10 elementary or 11 middle school students)
- Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction in a resource setting to meet each student’s unique needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers
- Monitor student progress and communicate updates to teams and families
- Maintain compliance with all state and federal education regulations
- Foster a positive, supportive classroom environment for all learners
