Make a difference as a Special Education Teacher supporting students in resource classrooms at both elementary and middle school levels. This rewarding contract opportunity offers immediate start through June 2027, with the flexibility to specify your preferred grade level (elementary or middle school). You’ll serve a manageable caseload—10 students at the elementary level or 11 students at the middle school—providing targeted, individualized education in collaboration with a caring and experienced staff.

What you’ll bring:

• Current, valid Michigan Special Education Teaching License (required; please provide documentation upon application)
• Experience or a strong interest in resource classroom settings for elementary and/or middle school students
• Solid classroom management and communication skills
• Ability to foster an inclusive, supportive, and positive learning environment
• Strong collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to create and adapt individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Organizational skills to maintain documentation and compliance standards

Your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering specialized instruction in both pull-out and in-class resource settings
• Modifying curriculum and instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs
• Tracking and reporting student progress, collaborating on IEPs, and participating in meetings
• Supporting students’ academic growth and social-emotional development
• Communicating effectively with parents, support staff, and administration

Details to note:

• Contract runs ASAP – June 10, 2027
• 35 hours per week, standard school hours (see schedule above)
• Resource classroom positions available at both elementary (East Leroy Elementary) and middle school (Athens High School)
• Competitive compensation at $80 per hour
