Restoration Project Assistant

Purpose The purpose of this role is to support the success and profitability of land restoration projects by assisting Project Managers with scheduling, submittals, invoicing, and reporting, and by taking part in field restoration and monitoring activities. This role also provides administrative support to the restoration team and helps identify public bid opportunities for Project Manager review. Focus & Scope Essential duties and responsibilities, i.e. those which are basic, necessary, and an integral part of the job, are indicated below. Company / Entity Actively supports the achievement of the Triangle Land Restoration division's goals and objectives. Shares knowledge and stays abreast of evolving industry trends and best practices, including new restoration techniques and equipment. Continuously strives to make improvements to day-to-day processes and procedures. Collaborates with project team members and supports consistent project practices and administrative procedures. Ensures policies, procedures, and standards are adhered to as well as protect the company's interests. Establishes, promotes, and protects Teichert's values including diversity, teamwork, fair work environment, and respect of others. Maintains a "team" spirit within the business unit. Works and cooperates with other disciplines (across company lines). Uses resources effectively and efficiently. Promotes and protects the community perception of Teichert. Technical / Specialty Area Assists Project Managers with updating project schedules, researching materials, and preparing submittals. Collaborates with project team members to compile quarterly summaries and prepare invoices. Participates in restoration field activities, including installing native plants, broadcast seeding, irrigation installation and maintenance, herbivory protection. Assists in the collection of field monitoring data. Provides administrative support, including data entry, organizing project files, and ordering supplies. Researches publicly posted bid opportunities for land restoration projects from various organizations and agencies, and provides links or downloaded documents to Project Managers for further consideration and evaluation. Assists in achieving a zero injury culture through the support of Teichert's Injury Prevention and Safety program and active participation in appropriate safety meetings and training sessions to maintain a safe, healthy work environment and meet corporate safety standards. Maintains accurate project documentation, including logs, files, records, and field data pertaining to restoration projects. Relationships, Qualifications and Requirements, & Competencies Key Relationships Reports to: Sr Project Manage, Triangle Land Restoration Direct reports: None External clients: Owners, public agencies, regulatory agencies, consultants, vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors Internal clients: Project Managers, Superintendents, field crews, Project Engineers, Accounting, Administrative Staff, Safety, Materials, and other business units Role Qualifications & Requirements Education High school diploma or equivalent required. Some college coursework in ecology, biology, environmental science, horticulture, or a related science preferred. Equivalent related field experience may be considered. Experience & Industry Expertise Minimum of one year of experience in customer service. Specific Job Requirements Ability to work outdoors and perform physical field work in varying conditions Willingness to learn native and invasive plant identification and restoration methods Working knowledge of company's Standard Operating Policies and Procedures, or ability to learn them Ability to travel regularly to Company facilities, project sites, regulatory agency offices, and other business locations throughout California and western Nevada. A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record are required when operating a motor vehicle on Company business. Successful completion of pre-employment drug, alcohol, and background investigation Commitment to workplace safety and support of corporate safety initiatives. Strong working knowledge of computers and peripheral material including software and equipment for estimating and project management Competencies Communications Organization and Management Teamwork and Collaboration Attention to Detail Technology: Microsoft Office and project management software Technical competence in land restoration, or ability to develop it Equipment Used, Physical Demands, and Work Environment Equipment Used: Computer/Laptop/Tablet/iPad, telephone, cell phone, hand tools, personal protective equipment, company vehicle. Physical Demands & Work Environment: The physical demands and work environment characteristics are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. May work long hours during peak seasons. Frequently works out of town in remote areas requiring overnight travel. Work Environment: A combination of office and outdoor project site work. Field work is performed in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, sun, wind, rain, and dust, and may include exposure to insects, plants, wildlife, and wet or muddy terrain. Demands of meeting tight deadlines. May work various shifts or hours, including early mornings, and may travel to project sites away from the home office.

HOURLY BASE SALARY RANGE:

$34.17/hr - $43.91/hr The range displayed reflects the range the company reasonable expects to pay for the position. The actual base salary is subject to variation due to the role, level, geographic location, relevant education, training, or experience, among other factors.
