Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct initial assessments and ongoing evaluations, documenting all sessions from the first consultation through the conclusion of treatment, ensuring thorough and accurate records.

• Evaluate clients' mental, emotional, and behavioral health through structured interviews and psychometric assessments to determine their needs.
\n
• Develop and implement tailored intervention and recovery plans for diverse populations including individuals, couples, families, and groups.
\n
• Facilitate therapeutic sessions, employing evidence-based practices and interventions that enhance client engagement and promote positive outcomes.
\n
• Monitor and assess client progress throughout their treatment journey, adjusting plans as necessary to ensure optimal recovery outcomes.

• Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers, to create cohesive intervention plans and support systems.
\n
• Follow up with healthcare providers for clients who may require hospitalization, ensuring continuity of care and coordinated interventions.

• Identify potential barriers to recovery and work proactively to mitigate these challenges, empowering clients to develop healthier coping mechanisms.

• Support family members and primary caregivers by providing education and resources to assist them in managing behavioral and emotional challenges within the family context.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The clientele at Life Matters Counseling Center consists of individuals from diverse backgrounds facing various mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction. Counselors will work with clients of all age groups, emphasizing a holistic approach that takes into account not only psychological factors but also social and environmental influences impacting clients' well-being.

Qualifications\n

• A Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCMFT, LMFT, LCPC, or LCSW-C in Maryland.
\n
• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on clear documentation practices and effective client interactions.
\n
• Exceptional interpersonal skills that instill trust and rapport with clients and their families.

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous experience as a mental health counselor, with a solid understanding of clinical processes and therapeutic techniques.

• Proficiency with electronic health record systems, such as AVATAR, to ensure efficient management of client information.
\n
• Experience with co-occurring physical and emotional health conditions, as well as a background in addressing addiction-related issues.

• Knowledge of the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices and integration of such practices into clinical work.

• In-depth understanding of the pharmacological effects of commonly prescribed medications and their implications in mental health treatment.

Compensation and Benefits\n
