Take the next step in your special education teaching career by making a real difference with elementary students (K-2) at two full-time contract openings in a vibrant urban school community. This onsite opportunity offers 35 hours per week, beginning as soon as possible and running through June 10, 2027.
You’ll leverage your expertise in delivering engaging, differentiated instruction, creating lesson plans aligned with Pennsylvania state and district standards, and implementing effective classroom management strategies. With a consistent schedule between 8:30AM-4:00PM, your skills will help young learners thrive in their educational and social development.
Requirements & Desired Experience:
- Active certification/licensure specific to assigned caseload required
- Bachelor’s degree needed for those seeking an emergency teaching permit
- Prior experience in a school environment, preferably with urban settings
- Proficiency in subject matter and instructional best practices for special education
- Mastery of formative assessment and lesson differentiation
- Strong classroom and behavioral management abilities
- Comfort working onsite with no schedule accommodations
- Reliable transportation essential for daily commuting
- Ability to complete all necessary Pennsylvania clearances
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver instruction for elementary special education students in alignment with curriculum and Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Differentiate teaching methods to accommodate diverse learners’ needs
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom atmosphere
- Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to enhance student learning outcomes
