Accounting Clerk

Job Title: Accounting Clerk Location: Iselin, NJ Employment Type: Contract (3 months) Industry: Manufacturing Compensation: $16.97-$20.50 hourly Schedule: 40 hours/week Responsibilities Book company invoices according to GAAP guidelines and legal requirements. Open accounts and follow up on clearance of outstanding, checks past due and overdue accounts. Check with respective customers to resolve account discrepancies as the first point of contact. Request customer financial statements, references, credit agency reports and review with team leader for potential changes in credit limits. Produce statements of accounts and perform regular account reconciliation per defined accounting guidelines. Use online system tools for follow up and proactive collections. Cooperate with responsible sales organization to clarify issues. Contribute to balance sheet and P&L closing. Cooperate with banks on defined subject matter. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. 2+ years of experience in accounts receivable, collections, customer service, or office administration. Additional Qualifications 2 years of vocational training plus up to 1 year of experience required. Basic knowledge and experience of principles, procedures, work routines and skills in the related field, gained through structured two-year vocational training.
