Senior Staff Accountant

Reporting to the Director of Accounting, the Senior Staff Accountant role is responsible for activities and analyses supporting the preparation of month-end and year-end financial statements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. On-Site Position

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in accounting required. 3-5 years of experience in accounting, healthcare industry preferred. Strong month-end close and account reconciliation skills. Experience reviewing staff work and managing multiple divisions simultaneously. Experience with Accounting software, Blackbaud Financial Edge preferred. Customer service mindset and ability to work in a collaborative team culture.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Participate in the preparation and review of monthly financial statements including accruals, budget analysis and applicable reports ensuring accuracy, timeliness and alignment with GAAP/FASB standards. Prepare and review account reconciliations and recommend adjusting entries as needed. Assist in developing and implementing new analysis tools and systems to improve efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting. Analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement. Support audit and tax filing preparation including schedules and supporting documentation. Assist with development and preparation of annual budget Provide guidance to junior staff, reviewing work and ensuring quality standards are met. Collaborate with other departments to support financial research and decision-making. Perform ad hoc reporting and special projects as assigned.
