Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments for elderly patients, understanding their individual challenges and histories.

• Develop and implement tailored treatment plans that account for cognitive, emotional, and physical health changes.

• Provide therapeutic interventions that include both individual and family therapy sessions to address issues like depression, anxiety, and adjustment challenges faced by older adults.

• Collaborate with geriatric psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals for an integrated care approach, ensuring holistic treatment plans.

• Manage crisis situations with appropriate interventions, supporting elderly patients during mental health emergencies.

• Offer education to patients and families about mental health conditions, treatment paths, and community resources available to them.

• Maintain detailed and confidential documentation in compliance with ethical and legal standards using electronic health record (EHR) systems.

• Engage in regular team meetings and case consultations to ensure continuous improvement and integration of best practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role focuses primarily on the geriatric population, addressing various mental health concerns such as depression, anxiety, dementia-related disorders, and adjustment difficulties related to life changes. Qualifications\n

• Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, or LCSW in Florida is required.

• Strong foundational knowledge of geriatric mental health disorders and evidence-based treatment modalities.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong ability to interact with elderly patients and their families empathetically.

• Demonstrated proficiency in using electronic health record systems and familiar with telehealth platforms.

Preferred Experience\n

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience providing mental health therapy to older adults is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits\n
