Snelling is seeking an experienced  Payroll Accountant for a wellestablished electrical contracting firm in the Birmingham area. This role is ideal for someone who is detaildriven, organized, and confident managing payroll functions in a fastpaced, constructionfocused environment.

Pay: $30-32/hr, depending on experience

Shift: 1st shift schedule

Key Responsibilities :

• Process weekly and biweekly payroll for field and office employees
• Maintain accurate payroll records, timekeeping data, and jobcost allocations
• Review and verify timesheets, hours worked, and pay rates
• Handle payroll adjustments, deductions, garnishments, and reimbursements
• Prepare payroll reports for management and accounting
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and company payroll policies
• Support accounting functions as needed, including reconciliations and reporting
• Communicate professionally with employees regarding payroll questions

Qualifications :

• Previous payroll accounting experience required
• Experience in construction or skilled trades industry preferred
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Proficiency in payroll systems and Microsoft Office
• Ability to manage deadlines and work independently
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Must have a degree in accounting or in an equivalent field
