Senior AI Infrastructure Engineer

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• At least five years of hands-on software engineering experience delivering enterprise-grade systems across design, development, testing, deployment, and operations.
• Strong experience developing automation platforms or services and integrating them with infrastructure operations workflows; experience with AI-assisted automation or decision-driven systems is required.
• Experience designing and delivering production solutions with demanding resiliency, scalability, performance, security, and operational excellence requirements.
• Working knowledge of enterprise technology risk and controls, including SDLC controls, change management, access controls, auditability, and data handling.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical delivery across a matrixed organization, influence partners, remove blockers, and achieve outcomes across teams and functions.
• Strong engineering fundamentals in API and service design, distributed systems, data modeling, testing, CI/CD, and observability using logs, metrics, and traces.
• Experience mentoring engineers through code reviews, design reviews, and technical feedback.
• Preferred: Knowledge of Mainframe and Midrange automation, operational tooling, and platform management.
• Preferred: Exposure to production agentic AI patterns and controls, such as human-in-the-loop design, guardrails, prompt and tool governance, evaluation, and monitoring.
• Preferred: Experience working with SRE and operations teams to improve reliability and operational efficiency, including reducing toil, automating incidents, or modernizing runbooks.
• Preferred: Experience integrating heterogeneous infrastructure systems, such as job schedulers, monitoring and alerting, ticketing workflows, and configuration systems.
• Preferred: Financial services or similarly regulated-industry experience, with an understanding of governance, controls, and audit expectations.

• Lead the design and delivery of AI-enabled capabilities for Mainframe and Midrange systems management, using intelligent automation to improve stability, efficiency, and operator experience.
• Turn the Advanced Capabilities Engineering tower strategy into technical plans, epics, and implementation roadmaps for assigned initiatives.
• Design, build, and maintain secure, auditable, production-ready agentic AI solutions that automate manual and repetitive infrastructure management work.
• Lead end-to-end engineering delivery for features and services, from clarifying requirements and designing solutions through development, testing, rollout, monitoring, and operational readiness.
• Collaborate with operations, SRE, architecture, risk, and control teams to deliver AI capabilities safely, transparently, and in line with our policies and regulatory expectations.
• Apply strong engineering practices, including design reviews, coding standards, CI/CD, documentation, observability, and incident readiness, and promote consistency across the team.
• Ensure solutions meet resiliency, scalability, performance, and security goals while improving service reliability and operational effectiveness without adding unmanaged risk.
• Support tooling strategy and vendor or product assessments by prototyping, conducting technical due diligence, and recommending suitable approaches to Mainframe and Midrange automation.
• Communicate technical rationale, tradeoffs, delivery progress, risks, issues, and recommended mitigations clearly to stakeholders.
• Mentor engineers through pairing, code and design reviews, and technical coaching, strengthening sustainable technical leadership across the organization.
