Registered Nurse – ICU (Travel Contract)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 3x12 or 4x12 Hours | 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM | Every Other Weekend | Holidays Within Contract

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in an ICU setting with a 1:2–3 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Manage neurosurgical and post-stroke patients, including EVD management and post-neurosurgical care
• Perform ventilator management, IV drip titration, and continuous telemetry monitoring
• Monitor and manage dysrhythmias and respond to emergency situations
• Float to Stepdown Unit and, as needed, to ED or Med-Surg to care for ICU-level patients being held
• Care for diverse patient populations including respiratory failure, renal failure, trauma, sepsis, MODS, heart failure, and post-cardiac cath patients

Required Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license or valid Compact RN license in hand at time of submission — no exceptions
• BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association required
• NIHSS certification required
• Strong neurology experience required, including post-neurosurgical care, EVD, and stroke management
• Proficiency in EPIC electronic health records — no exceptions
• Must pass EKG/telemetry competency test with a score of 80% or higher (one attempt; no remediation)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Minimum 3 years of critical care experience preferred; strong candidates with less experience will be considered
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred
• Experience with conscious sedation and advanced dysrhythmia management
