Manager, Enterprise Master Data Management

Location: Seattle, WA (on‑site 3x a week in south Seattle) Job type: 6‑month contract (high likelihood to extend) The Manager, Enterprise Master Data Management will work across business and technology teams to drive alignment, accountability, and execution throughout a large‑scale Master Data Management (MDM) transformation initiative. This includes partnering with implementation vendors, systems integrators, software engineering teams, business stakeholders, data governance leaders, analysts, and project teams to operationalize enterprise data management practices. This role requires a collaborative leader who can influence without direct authority, navigate complex organizational dynamics, and work hands‑on to solve data and process challenges in realtime. The ideal candidate combines strong technical and functional MDM experience with exceptional relationship‑building, communication, and execution skills. This role will help shape the future state of enterprise data management, governance, and analytics enablement. Key Responsibilities Support the enterprise implementation and operationalization of the Master Data Management strategy and roadmap. Partner with business and technology stakeholders to establish trusted, scalable, and project, and financial data. Act as a key liaison between business teams, software engineering, implementation partners, vendors, and data governance stakeholders. Drive execution across multiple workstreams while ensuring alignment between business objectives, technical solutions, and operational processes. Provide day‑to‑day leadership across cross‑functional teams without direct people management responsibility. Facilitate accountability across teams to ensure timely issue resolution, decision‑making, and delivery progress. Work closely with project managers, analysts, engineers, governance teams, and external partners to ensure successful implementation outcomes. Data Governance & Data Quality Partner closely with Data Governance initiatives and contribute to governance frameworks, stewardship models, standards, and operational processes. Help establish and operationalize data stewardship responsibilities and ownership models. Identify data quality gaps, root causes, and process inefficiencies, and drive resolution through cross‑team collaboration. Help define master data standards, hierarchies, business rules, ownership models, and support the establishment of sustainable governance and data quality monitoring practices. Technical & Operational Delivery Work closely with software engineering, reporting, analytics, and enterprise technology teams to support integration and alignment between enterprise systems and master data platforms and delivery oversight activities. Support architecture and integration discussions involving enterprise platforms and data ecosystems. Translate business needs into actionable requirements, user stories, implementation priorities, and operational solutions. Assist with backlog prioritization, issue triage, risk management, testing coordination, and operational readiness activities. Remain actively engaged in hands‑on problem solving, issue investigation, and delivery coordination throughout implementation. Establish repeatable operational processes and delivery standards to support long‑term scalability and governance maturity. Prepare and deliver clear, concise updates, recommendations, risks, and progress reporting to the Director and executive‑level stakeholders. Facilitate cross‑functional discussions, governance forums, and decision‑making sessions across business and technology teams. Influence alignment and drive accountability across teams without formal organizational authority. Support organizational change management and adoption efforts associated with Documentation & Operational Discipline Develop and maintain implementation documentation, including business requirements, process flows, governance standards, data definitions, operational procedures, executive communications, and implementation artifacts. Ensure documentation and operational practices support long‑term sustainability, scalability, and organizational adoption. Relationship Management & Collaboration Build strong partnerships across departments, project teams, and leadership groups. Communicate effectively with both technical and non‑technical audiences, including executive stakeholders. Foster alignment and collaboration across teams with differing priorities and perspectives. Help establish a culture of accountability, transparency, and operational discipline throughout the enterprise data program. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, Data Management, or related field, or equivalent work experience. 7+ years of experience in data management, business intelligence, analytics, enterprise systems, or related disciplines. 3+ years of hands‑on experience supporting or leading Master Data Management initiatives within complex enterprise environments. Experience working in large‑scale, cross‑functional implementations involving multiple business units and enterprise systems. Experience partnering with implementation vendors, systems integrators, and enterprise technology teams. Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, metadata management, and master experience working with enterprise data platforms and modern analytics ecosystems, including Microsoft Fabric and cloud‑based data architectures. Strong experience collaborating with software engineering and analytics teams. Demonstrated ability to influence and lead cross‑functional teams without formal people management responsibilities. Demonstrated experience building strong cross‑functional relationships and driving accountability in complex organizational environments. Exceptional verbal, written, presentation, and facilitation skills with the ability to communicate effectively across technical teams, business stakeholders, vendors, and executive leadership. Ability to translate complex technical concepts, data challenges, and implementation risks into actionable business discussions and recommendations. Strong organizational, facilitation, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands‑on execution and operational problem solving. Preferred Qualifications Experience with one or more MDM platforms, such as: Semarchy Profisee Experience leveraging AI‑enabled and intelligent automation capabilities to support enterprise data initiatives, including data profiling, quality assessment, migration validation, matching, classification, and operational efficiency improvements. Familiarity with AI‑powered capabilities within modern enterprise platforms and data ecosystems, including Microsoft Copilot and machine learning‑assisted data management features. Ability to critically evaluate AI‑generated outputs, understand model limitations, and apply appropriate governance and risk considerations within enterprise data environments. Experience utilizing generative AI tools to improve productivity across documentation, requirements gathering, analysis, and stakeholder communications. Experience with Microsoft Azure data platforms and enterprise analytics ecosystems, lakehouse architectures, or cloud‑based analytics ecosystems. Experience working with ERP, CRM, asset management, project management, or financial systems. Previous experience in the A/E/C (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) industry preferred. Experience operating within organizations undergoing enterprise transformation, process modernization, or large‑scale systems implementations preferred. Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies and tools such as Azure DevOps or ServiceNow. Experience supporting enterprise reporting and analytics initiatives.
