The School of Arts and Sciences (SAS) is the largest academic unit at Rutgers University and the center of the undergraduate experience on the Rutgers-New Brunswick campus and is comprised of 41 academic departments spanning the liberal arts.

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Laboratory/Technical Assistant for the School of Arts and Sciences - Geological Sciences.

Among the key duties of this position are:

• Operates core scanning X-ray fluorescence (XRF) instrument.
• Manages data quality control, processing, and analysis.
• Prepares geological core samples for measurement.
• Handles and curate physical core archive materials.
• Maintains instrument logs and scan records.
• Contributes to large-scale core scanning projects.

$20 - $25 an hour

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in a scientific/technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and/or relevant laboratory technician or research study experience carrying out research protocols and tests, or other technical work may be substituted for the degree.
