Posting Summary


Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Laboratory Assistant for the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences. Experienced researchers with skills in cavity nesting bird breeding are invited to apply for an open Laboratory Assistant position in Dr. Erin Sauer's lab group at Rutgers University.

Among the key duties of the position are the following:

• Assists in the management of fieldwork and the collection of breeding data for cavity-nesting birds across central New Jersey.
• Performs duties including hiking outdoors to nest box sites, installing data loggers, recording breeding data, and adding with the sampling of adult and nestling birds.

Salary Details
$20 - $25 per hour

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in ecology or a related scientific/technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and/or relevant laboratory technician or research study experience carrying out research protocols and tests, or other technical work may be substituted for the degree.

Certifications/Licenses

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of researching Eastern bluebirds and tree swallows during the breeding season.
• Experience hiking outdoors.
