Joy of Hope Behavioral Health Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our fully remote team. In this full-time position, you will play a pivotal role in providing high-quality mental health services to individuals and families facing various emotional and behavioral challenges. You will be responsible for conducting thorough mental health evaluations, developing tailored treatment plans, and facilitating both individual and group therapy sessions.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct preliminary interviews with clients and meticulously document cases from the initial consultation all the way through to the conclusion of treatment.
\n
• Perform comprehensive evaluations of clients' mental, emotional, and behavioral health to inform your treatment approach.
\n
• Develop individualized and evidence-based intervention and recovery plans that address the unique circumstances of individuals, couples, families, and groups.
\n
• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, using various therapeutic techniques to meet the clients’ needs.
\n
• Continuously monitor and assess client progress against treatment goals, making adjustments to the treatment plan as necessary.
\n
• Collaborate effectively with other mental health specialists, medical professionals, and social workers to create a holistic approach to client care.
\n
• Provide follow-up care and liaise with psychiatrists and attending physicians for clients during hospitalization when required.
\n
• Recognize and prevent any behaviors that may hinder recovery and promote a culture of healing.
\n
• Offer support and guidance to family members and primary caregivers to help them manage the challenges associated with mental health issues.

Your work will directly impact a diverse clientele, including individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues. Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW in the state of California.
\n
• Satisfactory scores obtained on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Strong foundation in counseling principles and practices, with a history of providing mental health care in a clinical setting.
\n
• Proficiency with electronic health records systems, such as AVATAR, for effective case management.
\n
• Familiarity with managing underlying physical and emotional health conditions and navigating addiction disorders.
\n
• Awareness of the best practices established by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
\n
• Excellent communication skills in both writing and speaking, along with strong interpersonal skills and a compassionate approach to client interactions.

Preferred Experience\n

• A minimum of three years of experience working as a mental health counselor in a community health setting.
\n
• Experience developing and implementing treatment plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
\n
• Knowledgeable about the pharmacological treatments prescribed by medical professionals and their effects on clients’ mental health.

Compensation and Benefits\n
