Job Summary

Marine Electrical/Electronic Engineer responsible for designing, developing, releasing, and maintaining engine harnesses, cables, wiring groups, and electrical schematics for marine propulsion engines, auxiliary engines, gensets, and marine electronic products. The role requires strong CAD, c, Teamcenter, electrical troubleshooting, harness design, and supplier coordination experience, with a preference for CAT engine/genset and CAT ET experience .

Key Responsibilities

• Design and release engine harness assemblies, wiring groups, cables, and related components.
• Develop harness designs for new products and manage engineering changes for existing products.
• Create and maintain EDS and GPGR models for harness assemblies and wiring groups.
• Develop and maintain accurate engineering drawings, schematics, and detailing.
• Conduct design reviews, concept presentations, and technical deep dives.
• Provide diagnostic and troubleshooting support to assembly, quality, manufacturing, and harness suppliers.
• Create drawing deviations and Advanced Change Notices (ACNs).
• Establish best practices for harness creation, drawing accuracy, engineering notes, views, and checklists.
• Support DCR activities and coordinate with internal engineering teams and external suppliers.
• Train assigned personnel and team members on harness design processes.
• Investigate and implement new harness concepts and design improvements.

Required Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent; BSEE/BSME accepted.
• 5 7 years of relevant engineering experience.
• Minimum 2 years of CAT/Caterpillar experience.
• Strong experience with electrical harness and wiring design.
• Hands-on experience with AutoCAD, Pro/E, Creo, or equivalent CAD tools.
• Experience with Engineering Data System (EDS) and Teamcenter.
• Strong ability to read and develop electrical schematics.
• Knowledge of APQP and PPAP processes.
• Strong electronic troubleshooting and diagnostic capabilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Experience working with internal engineering teams and external suppliers.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with CAT engines or marine gensets.
• Experience using CAT ET.
• Experience designing light structural components, including brackets for connectors and sensors.
• Strong communication, collaboration, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Experience supporting manufacturing, quality, assembly, and supplier engineering activities.
