Work Environment

This position involves providing therapy services directly in the homes of our clients, which allows for a tailored approach to rehabilitative care. As a Physical Therapist, you will collaborate with patients and their families in a familiar environment, making it crucial to assess not just their physical needs, but also how their home setup can impact their recovery. Our office is based in West McLean, VA, but the location of service is primarily within the community.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations of patient's physical functioning, applying diagnostic tests to determine needs and create effective treatment plans aimed at pain relief, muscle function development, and disability prevention.
• Oversee and guide Physical Therapy Assistants in executing treatment plans, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards and best practices.
• Regularly assess the home environment to recommend modifications that facilitate independence and enhance client recovery.
• Implement and supervise therapeutic interventions, including manual exercises, traction, and use of physical agents to maximize therapeutic effectiveness.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team by participating in case conferences and communicating patient progress to fellow healthcare professionals.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation, including evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries, adhering to the OASIS guidelines.
• Educate clients and their families about physical therapy devices and treatment programs, ensuring they are engaged and informed throughout the process.
• Completing other assignments as directed to support the organization's mission and objectives.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The successful candidate will work with a varied patient population, including elderly clients, individuals with chronic conditions, and those recovering from surgery or injury. Our focus is on delivering customized care plans that cater to each client's unique needs, ensuring that therapy is relevant and impactful.

Qualifications

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) with a current valid license to practice in Virginia.
• At least two years of experience in physical therapy, with a preference for home care or acute care settings.
• Current CPR certification and a valid driver's license with appropriate automobile insurance.
• Strong interpersonal skills, allowing for effective communication and collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
• Ability to integrate feedback and continuously improve clinical practices.

Preferred Experience

Experience in home healthcare settings is highly desirable. Familiarity with OASIS documentation and an understanding of federal and state regulations governing physical therapy practice will be advantageous. A proactive mindset and a passion for delivering exceptional patient care will also set candidates apart.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 100,000 to 120,000 annually.
