Key Responsibilities

As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist, your primary responsibility will include directing and overseeing all aspects of physical therapy treatment. Your day-to-day tasks will involve:

• Developing personalized treatment plans in alignment with each patient's unique needs and goals, aimed at preventing disability, relieving pain, and restoring muscle function.
• Conducting thorough evaluations of patients' physical abilities, utilizing diagnostic tests to assess muscle, nerve, joint, and functional capabilities.
• Administering manual therapeutic exercises and providing clear instructions for non-manual exercises to enhance patients' recovery.
• Overseeing a team of Physical Therapy Assistants to ensure that the treatment plans are being implemented effectively and in accordance with established protocols.
• Documenting patient progress meticulously, preparing clinical records (including OASIS, care plans, and discharge summaries), and ensuring timely communication with physicians and case managers regarding any changes in the patient's condition.
• Advising on the adaptation of the home environment to optimize rehabilitation and independence.
• Participating in interdisciplinary team meetings to collaboratively plan and evaluate comprehensive care for each patient.
• Instructing and supervising Physical Therapy Assistants in executing specific treatment phases, ensuring compliance with state regulations.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily involves working with orthopedic patients who are navigating recovery from injuries or surgeries. You will be instrumental in guiding these individuals through their rehabilitation journey, using tailored therapeutic practices that promote healing and functional mobility. Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• A Bachelor's or Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
• Active PT licensure in good standing for the state of Virginia.
• Current CPR certification and a valid driver's license with appropriate automobile insurance.
