Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients by reviewing pertinent medical histories and performing specific assessments, establishing baseline measurements, and determining individualized treatment recommendations.
• Develop and implement tailored treatment protocols based on evaluation findings and evolving healthcare standards, ensuring that each patient's unique presentation is addressed effectively.
• Document patient care activities accurately and promptly, including legible daily notes, interim progress summaries, and discharge evaluations that effectively communicate the patient's rehabilitation journey.
• Engage in interdisciplinary consultations as necessary, recognizing and documenting any changes in a patient's condition that may require adjustments to their plan of care or further medical attention.
• Participate in discharge planning and follow-up care, ensuring a smooth transition for patients back to their daily lives and maintaining communication with external providers as needed.
• Attend facility meetings and contribute to ongoing team discussions to enhance therapeutic processes, improve patient outcomes, and share best practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work primarily with orthopedic patients requiring skilled physical therapy to manage and rehabilitate conditions such as post-surgical recovery, joint pain, sports injuries, and general mobility issues. Your role is crucial in creating treatment plans that empower patients to regain strength and functionality while addressing their individual recovery goals.

Qualifications

• Licensed Physical Therapist in the State of Virginia.
• Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy; Doctorate degree (DPT) is strongly preferred.
• Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in an outpatient orthopedic setting, demonstrating a solid understanding of rehabilitation techniques and patient interaction.
• Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems to ensure timely and efficient patient documentation.
• Specialty certifications in relevant areas, such as sports physical therapy or manual therapy, are a plus.

Compensation and Benefits
